The Moon

Aug 14, 2011 in What's New!, Poetry

I walked beneath the shining moon,
beneath its shimmering glow.
It led a path across the stillness,
that chilled me to the bone.
All truths I knew
fell into question,
beneath its luminescence.
All clarity blurred,
and certainty turned into whispers.
I stopped, entranced by its power,
wondering as my perceptions peeled away,
whether here, now, I had truly become lost,
or had finally found my way.

If You Were My Little Girl

Aug 11, 2011 in What's New!, Poetry

If you were my little girl
I’d whisper to you softly,
to always look out for the one
that you simply can’t live without.
To always wait
for the one who listens and speaks
your language
when no one else quite can.
To hold out for the one
who you can’t imagine being without.
Who instantly becomes your family.
I’d tell her that he’ll be the one
where’s there’s no doubt no question no hesitation.
He’s one of a kind,
made just for you.
If you were my little girl,
I’d whisper to you softly,
look for the one
you simply can’t live without.

Truth

Aug 08, 2011 in Poetry

Truth has a power all its own.
It sifts through illusions
and resonates through the darkness of chaos.
Truth has a particular sound.
It doesn’t need to be loud
or insistent or emphatic;
it doesn’t need to be filled with emotion.
It can be calm.
It can be quiet.
It can be the lightest voice in the room
but it has a power
to shred through and dispel
what fills the world with confusion.
Truth has a resonance.
It doesn’t have to be constantly reiterated
or constantly defended.
You don’t have to be persuaded to recognize it.
It has a power
a quiet power
a power to illuminate
wherever it is heard.
