New Year’s Resolutions

A time to resolve
or perhaps just move on.
Dusting off old grievances
and not entertaining new ones.
A time to understand
that old patterns never yield
new results.
And to change the outside
you must first begin within.
A time to explore new shores,
and let the old ones
remain behind you.
A time for hope,
for new beginnings
and a time to strive for true peace.
