It’s hard to perceive
from our isolated shells
what can be happening in another’s life.
We use our experience
and transfer our beliefs
onto situations
that don’t quite fit.
We think we understand,
judging from our realm of experience,
not taking into account another’s path,
not taking into account their completely different realm of experience.
We assume that we can interpret actions,
that in truth we can not,
that in truth we have no frame of reference to do so.
We assume we’re living in the same world.
We assume we understand.
But what we don’t understand
is that we have no right to assume.
